MAP

Project Description

MAP project addresses crucial challenges for the future of the EU by promoting informed, aware, inclusive, critical, and active citizenship among youth, especially those in disadvantaged conditions, professionals working in the field of education and youth, and youth leaders in 5 European countries (France, Italy, Lithuania, Portugal, Romania).

Through training of trainers, workshops, interactive and participatory activities, MAP will strengthen the media literacy and critical thinking skills of the target group, contributing to the fight against disinformation and countering the spread of fake news that undermines the foundations of our democratic society. The reflections on the EU funding values will enable youth, youth workers and youth leaders to strengthen their sense of belonging to the common European citizenship, while youth mobilities will offer 250 disadvantaged youth the opportunity to meet their peers in other countries rediscovering themselves more like-minded than expected.

Training of trainers and workshops have also been designed to foster the activation of young people as ethical and reliable information content providers through digital storytelling tools which will be used to construct truthful narratives on topics of their interest and issues relevant to their community, all the way to the implementation of community social impact actions. Practising dialogue, debate and mediation techniques will allow meaningful meetings with local and European decision makers empowering youths with the skills to effectively express their opinions toward the creation of recommendations for future policies to consider their views and aspirations. Through the project youth, youth workers and youth leaders will be empowered with the tools and opportunities to feel and become active informed citizens, agents of change and improvement of their local communities and, consequently, the European community.
