Starting a small-scale project – “Green compass for Europe”

On 1st September, 2022 “Mano Europa” together with “Hopeland” from Greece and and “Associazione di Promozione Sociale KORA” from Italy started a small-scale Erasmus+ project “Green compass for Europe”.

By implementing this project organisations aim to raise awareness about the climate change, encourage youth active participation in regards of sustainable living and directly contribute to the European Climate Pact which aims to give citizens (youth) and stakeholders “a voice and role in designing new climate actions, sharing information, launching grassroots activities and showcasing solutions that others can follow.”

During the first online partner meeting we discussed the activities of the project, main responsibilities and agreed for the dates of the kick-off meeting in Italy which will be hosted by KORA team.

The need of the project:

Education and public awareness of climate change are essential to promote and achieve sustainable development. When ranking the EU priorities, 67% of the respondents (aged 15 to 30) believed protecting the environment and fighting climate change should be one of the main priorities of the EU. Thus, by raising awareness about environmental issues, providing successful examples of environmental friendly ideas, initiatives and business we will seek to encourage and boost Europe’s youth capacity to innovate, mitigate the climate and environmental crises. The project consortium will seek to improve youths’ skills that are necessary in the transition to a sustainable society and economy. Activities will ensure that young people are empowered to take an active role in a green and sustainable future.

STAY TUNED FOR MORE NEWS!

Project is implemented with the support of the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union.
