One more project finished – EU Youth Zone

Mano Europa team would like to share with you the results and activities which were implemented during the Europe for Citizens project “EU Youtn Zone”.

Partner meeting was organized in Corfu, Greece from 3-6th June, 2021. The meeting had the purpose to discuss operational and financial matters of the project among 7 partners – project details, decisions regarding project such as work plans, dynamics, program content, planning of the project activities, target groups, visibility, mutual obligations and responsibilities, way of monitoring, evaluation and reporting. Events:
7 events have been carried out within this project:

Event 1

Participation: The event involved more than 2100 citizens, including 300 participants from the city of Tirana and Durres (Albania), 300 participants from the city of Sarajevo (Bosnia and Herzegovina), 250 participants from the city of Athens (Greece), 300 participants from the city of Corato and Orta Nova (Italy), 250 participants from the city of Kaunas (Lithuania), 300 participants from the city of Kavadarci (North Macedonia) and 400 participants from the city of Nis (Serbia).

Location / Dates: The event took place in Tirana and Durres(Albania), Sarajevo (Bosnia and Herzegovina), Athens (Greece), Corato and Orta Nova (Italy), Kaunas (Lithuania), Kavadarci (North Macedonia) and Nis (Serbia) from 01/07/2021 to 30/09/2021

Short description: The aim of the event was to provide opinion and views of young people in 7 participating countries on negative and positive sides of EU, response to pandemics, as well as suggest what they would like to change / to see differently in EU to improve their status and situation. Event 2

Participation: The event “Training – debating Euroscepticism” involved 30 citizens, including 3 participants from the city of Tirana and Durres(Albania), 7 participants from the city of Sarajevo (Bosnia and Herzegovina), 3 participants from the city of Athens (Greece), 5 participants from the city of Corato and Orta Nova (Italy), 3 participants from the city of Kaunas (Lithuania), 3 participants from the city of Kavadarci (North Macedonia) and 6 participants from the city of Nis (Serbia).

Location / Dates: The event took place in Sarajevo (Bosnia and Herzegovina), from 11/10/2021 to 16/10/2021

Short description: The aim of the event was to provide young people with knowledge, skills and competences about European citizenship as a concept, what it means for young people coming from EU and non-EU, develop understanding for EU as a community instead of supporting Euroscepticism. Link:

Event 3

Participation: The event “National competitions – Debating EU” involved 200 citizens, including 25 participants from the city of Tirana and Durres (Albania), 30 participants from the city of Sarajevo (Bosnia and Herzegovina), 25 participants from the city of Athens (Greece), 25 participants from the city of Corato and Orta Nova (Italy), 25 participants from the city of Kaunas (Lithuania), 25 participants from the city of Kavadarci (North Macedonia) and 45 participants from the city of Nis (Serbia).

Location / Dates: The event took place in Tirana and Durres (Albania), Sarajevo (Bosnia and Herzegovina), Athens (Greece), Corato and Orta Nova (Italy), Kaunas (Lithuania), Kavadarci (North Macedonia) and Nis (Serbia) from 01/11/2021 to 28/02/2022.

Short description: The aim of the event was to provide citizens of 7 countries with the opportunity to debate on EU, European citizenship and Euroscepticism and increase their knowledge in these fields. The organization of the national competitions will additionally raise the awareness among local communities about the concept of EU, bring understanding of European citizenship and provide facts of why Euroscepticism should be combated. Event 4

Participation: The event “EU Youth Quiz – Collecting materials and ideas for the development of the mobile phone application” involved 80 citizens, including 10 participants from the city of Tirana and Durres (Albania), 10 participants from the city of Sarajevo (Bosnia and Herzegovina), 10 participants from the city of Athens (Greece), 10 participants from the city of Corato and Orta Nova (Italy), 10 participants from the city of Kaunas (Lithuania), 10 participants from the city of Kavadarci (North Macedonia) and 80 participants from the city of Nis (Serbia).

Location / Dates: The event took place in Tirana and Durres (Albania), Sarajevo (Bosnia and Herzegovina), Athens (Greece), Corato and Orta Nova (Italy), Kaunas (Lithuania), Kavadarci (North Macedonia) and Nis (Serbia), from 01/11/2021 to 31/01/2022.

Short description: The aim of the event was to collect the materials and research on what is important to know about EU that led to development of mobile phone application in the form of Quiz, on EU, a new tool for digital educational and awareness raising purposes that was developed through this project.

Event 5

Participation: The event “Youth meeting – Testing of the developed mobile phone application” involved 30, including 3 participants from the city of Tirana and Durres (Albania), 4 participants from the city of Sarajevo (Bosnia and Herzegovina), 3 participants from the city of Athens (Greece), 8 participants from the city of Corato and Orta Nova (Italy), 3 participants from the city of Kaunas (Lithuania), 3 participants from the city of Kavadarci (North Macedonia) and 6 participants from the city of Nis (Serbia).

Location / Dates: The event took place in Corato (Italy), from 09/04/2022 to 13/04/2022.
Short description: The aim of the event was to check final version of mobile phone application and to determine and at the same time to prepare it for the further use. The application includes wide range EU related topics adjusted for the needs of young people, but also for other citizens who will be able to learn about EU through fun and interactive way. Event 6

Participation: The event “Launching of the EU Youth Quiz” involved 1500 citizens, including 200 participants from the city of Tirana and Durres (Albania), 200 participants from the city of Sarajevo (Bosnia and Herzegovina), 200 participants from the city of Athens (Greece), 200 participants from the city of Corato and Orta Nova (Italy), 200 participants from the city of Kaunas (Lithuania), 200 participants from the city of Kavadarci (North Macedonia) and 300 participants from the city of Nis (Serbia).

Location / Dates: The event took place in Tirana and Durres (Albania), Sarajevo (Bosnia and Herzegovina), Athens (Greece), Corato and Orta Nova (Italy), Kaunas (Lithuania), Kavadarci (North Macedonia) and Nis (Serbia), from 20/04/2022 to 30/06/2022.

Short description: The aim of the event was to launch and promote the mobile app in order to reach a bigger number of people, to present the mobile phone application and this digital tool in the local schools where EU Youth Quiz was presented and competitions of the students were organized within schools. Event 7

Participation: The event “Final conference” involved 50 citizens, including 4 participants from the city of Tirana and Durres (Albania), 4 participants from the city of Sarajevo (Bosnia and Herzegovina), 4 participants from the city of Athens (Greece), 6 participants from the city of Corato and Orta Nova (Italy), 4 participants from the city of Kaunas (Lithuania), 4 participants from the city of Kavadarci (North Macedonia) and 24 participants from the city of Nis (Serbia).

Location / Dates: The event took place in Nis (Serbia), from 07/06/2022 to 11/06/2022

Short description: The aim of the event was to organize European Karl Popper debate competition, where young people from 7 countries competed and debated EU related issues; to present the project to wider population including relevant institutions at local and national level as well as EU institutions such as Delegation of EU to Serbia.
