Promoting gender equality in sportsEditorial Team
The youth exchange “Equality in Sports” was organized between 30 March – 8 April 2023 in Portugal by Centro Cultural e Desportivo Estrela do Zezere da Boidobra. The project aimed to use sports as a methods and way to overcome inequalities in different areas and to integrate minorities.
The practice of sports activities can play a major role in human development, not only on a physical level but on a cognitive level as well. Sports practice has been associated with the positive development of several soft-skills (e.g. communication, stress). Some of them are related to the interpersonal skills that can be acquired through the practice of team sports. The soft-skills acquired through sports practice can be applied in day-to-day life activities, and in the long term assist in a more positive life and improved well-being.
